Brief
Create a Utopian scene of your interpretation. Focus on working in a style you wouldn’t normally use, this means trying something new, from illustration to photographic approaches.
Rationale
I chose to focus on the stereotypical feminine utopia, thinking about what I enjoy about womanhood and my favorite things, a very personalized utopia as opposed to the typical depictions of a perfect world. I also chose to work in a collage style, cutting out pictures and creating a collage similar to a scrapbook. I chose to portray this utopia as a pop-up book to invoke feelings of fairytales and childhood imagination, incorporating graphics from the past and present to make a dream-like whimsy scene.
